Wychwood was designed by the renowned Manhattan architectural firm
of Schwartz and Gross
in 1929. Many of the luxury buildings that line Manhattan's
Park Avenue, Central Park West, West End Avenue, and Riverside
were also designed by the firm. The beautifully landscaped
garden that is the centerpiece of the Wychwood building was
by the team of Mann & MacNeille.
Wychwood was built in 1929 and has spacious 1, 2 & 3 bedroom apartments with formal wood-burning fireplaces and decorative mantel pieces, hardwood floors, enclosed sun porches -- overlooking the landscaped gardens which were designed by Mann & MacNeille.
In 1986 the building converted to cooperative
ownership. Today the board of directors (elected annually
by shareholders) continues to protect and preserve the integrity
of the building as the luxury residence first envisioned
by Schwartz and Gross over fifty years ago.

building can be found at The Historic Preservation Commission
